How many times have we heard people say this to us? As if we are able to just close down all our emotions and be happy and 'as we were before'. But......the phrase 'Pull yourself together', does actually describe how 'not together' we actually are after we have experienced a trauma. How does this work?
Intense trauma to the body, psyche, or soul is like an earthquake that shakes your energetic foundations. What happens is that the basic grid pulls apart. It acts like a ‘shock absorber’ – it helps the body withstand the shock of trauma the body would not otherwise be able to absorb. If the basic grid didn’t inhibit the shock, such trauma might have caused the heart to stop or another vulnerable system to fail. In the short term, this softens the blow. But, as when a car’s frame has been damaged in a crash, other systems may not function quite correctly until the basic grid has been restored, through time or intervention. Once
the grid pattern is restored and the energy it holds is released, the
person may then have to deal with memories, pain and shock. This is
where therapies such as EFT can be bought in to help clear these
emotions. Children
are particularly vulnerable to shock and trauma, which cause disruptions
in the basic grid, but they can occur at anytime of life. When this happens it literally ‘Pulls you apart’ energetically. So to restore your grid, would in fact be ‘Pulling yourself ‘back’ together'. The
